Domino Placing Robot
A 5-DoF arm that lays out user-drawn domino patterns
As mechanical lead of Team Domino for Caltech’s ME134 class, I designed, built, and helped program a robotic arm powered by six HEBI motors, ROS, Python, and OpenCV. It places standard-sized dominoes on a five-by-five-foot table along a user-drawn path. I designed the 5-DoF arm, the gripper assembly, and the automatic domino dispenser.

Caltech’s ME134 class involves a team project in which we build a robotic arm with our choice of DOFs and control layout in order to complete our choice of intended goal. My team built a robot that can build domino courses automatically. Watch the video to learn more!
